My Top 3 in Volterra: Telma Har unveils her favourite Tuscan moments

Ancient buildings, theatres and, of course, the unmissable Italian food.

Setting up an exhibition is always a lot of work, and when Magma Art Space is hosting a show in Italy (our home country) we always make sure to give the participating artists plenty of options and suggestions to choose from when it comes to their free time.

After Arcanæ Figuræ was over, we asked Telma Har what were her 3 top favourites, of any kind, in Volterra.

Here’s what she said:

A rooftop bar in Volterra during a bright autumn day
Café Etruria, rooftop bar

It is difficult to name just three things but I loved to sit down at Osteria Fornelli after having a stroll around the town, had a wonderful pappardelle with boar sauce there and had a gorgeous view. I loved the hotel we stayed at, Albergo Etruria.

A hospitable and lovely family owns it and there is a beautiful rooftop café at the top of the hotel building that also leads to the park and archeological site Enrico Fiumi.

Palazzo dei Priori is of course one of my favorite places in Volterra: their exhibition space is just one of a kind in my opinion.

I have to mention the theater as well, Teatro Persio Flacco: it was stunning and  I wish I could have been able to see a show there.

The pieces of art I brought back with me home was a beautiful painting by a Volterra based artist Edgard F. Abadia, an alabaster case, a bracelet for my daughter and a small Vespa for my son. I of course brought home some pasta, olive oil, parmigiano and mozzarella di bufala.

It was wonderful to work with Telma on this exhibition, and looking forward to more projects in the future.
